These are typically caused by Surface Triangulation tolerancing. If you go into Compare and Edit, what is that value set to?

You can also play with general tolerance as well as "additional offset" fields to eliminate these.

.0002" is what its set to
I forgot about that being an issue - still hasnt been fixed yet?

Changing it to 0.05 or 0.1 the jiggles get worse

A .0005" additional offset cleans it up a lot better

I can continue to toss guesses at you, but it's quicker if I can see the file and make a more educated suggestion 🙂

Received the file, taking a look at it. It's not 100% clear what settings you've been playing with to get a better toolpath, but let me offer you my $.02; Surface Triangulation in Compare and Edit. The default setting is "tolerance*.5" (which is whatever tolerance you're running in the toolpath times half). I prefer to have my default value in the HSM toolpaths (Scallop, Contour, Parallel etc) set to "tolerance*.05", which is quite the reduction. Doing so to the decent toolpath you provided will go from this:

To this:

There is a slight increase in toolpath calculation time, but it's not a huge amount.

Original toolpath: 13.7s

New tolerance: 20.4

Weird, it was not behaving this way yesterday. I tried 0.5, 0.1, 0.05, and 0.01 and they weren't generating like this. Fusion did restart and update this morning and I wonder if that was part of it - otherwise I've just been looking at this program too much and am starting to Shine.

Still confused by this behavior though
