My Problem:
I am trying to find a way to set multiple different toolpaths in several different Setups to always have the same parameters (lead-ins, lead-outs, multiple depths, roughing, etc...). That way, I don't need to set the exact same parameters in multiple places, and if I need to change parameters, I won't have to change the same thing in multiple places.
Also, it would be very convenient to link only specific parameters of several tool paths (rather than all parameters of several tool paths).
Context of my Workflow:
I have an old, beat-up, low-power/low-rigidity 3 axis mill. It's fairly new to me, so I'm constantly testing and modifying different settings. I'm making 5 of the parts shown below (for my own use), so every time I finish one, I go back into Fusion and change various settings to try to improve surface finish, reduce cycle times, etc... This is how I work on nearly every part I make, so I waste a lot of time changing the same parameter in multiple tool paths.
Some Specific Examples of My Problem:
Shown below is a part I'm working on, with several examples:
-There are 7 weight-reduction pockets on each side of the part (indicated by the red arrow), created using a Mirror so they're literally identical. Since it's the same part feature, I'd like to use all the same settings for all of these the pockets, regardless of which side they're on.
-The pockets, the long slot, and the curved profiles on the ends of the bar all get a finishing pass with a 1/4" end mill. They get the same feeds and speeds from the tool library (which is desirable in this case), but I'd also like to use the same stock-to-leave settings (I set axial stock-to-leave to 0.001 to keep the tool of the floor), and the same lead-in, and the same tangential extension. So, in this case, only a few settings will be the same.
-I use the same drilling parameters (on a "chip break - partial retract" cycle) for all holes on this part, but I have 3 different hole diameters and thus 3 different tool paths. So, if I want to change the chip break distance, I have to change it in 3 different places. Again, only a few settings will be the same, but many (tool, geometry, heights) will be different.
A Hypothetical Example:
Suppose I have several 2D Contour tool paths with different tools, different lead-ins, etc., BUT I want them to all have identical tabs. After some testing, I find I need to make the tabs thinner. As it stands now, I would need to manually go into every tool path and change the tab settings, which leaves the door open for error (i.e. missing the change in one or more tool paths). I've had the same thing occur with lead-ins, depths, stock-to-leave, drill peck settings, and so forth.
Honestly, something like the "Change Parameters" feature (found in the Design workspace) available in the Manufacturing workspace would probably cover 75% of these examples.
