Is there a way to eliminate waste like this?

Isn't there a way other than reselecting everything?

What's the toolpath and selections, can you share your file here?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

Thanks Seth,

It's a 2D pocket with a couple hundred pockets selected. This is not a serious issue since it's a 25 minute operation. The image shows an extreme  - why does it do this - I didn't select them that way.

Some operations have Optimize Order or the like. Why not all operations?

This option would help a great deal as I use tiny cutters for many features and when one breaks, the option of Reverse Cutting Order would help a great deal.

Should I put this in the suggestion box instead?

There are more than a few areas where we could do with some improved control over the ordering (and not just automatic ordering via the software, but true user control)

Until then, this is a good part to just use Patterns.
