Using Multi-Axis Contour to cut a rounded surface with square endmill

'm trying to use the tip of a 1/2" square endmill to cut this sloped surface. When using Multi-Axis Contour, it mostly works, but the tool is tilted slightly away from "normal to the surface." The tool path won't let me override the tilt angle because it only works for a rounded tool. Also, adjusting the lean and lead/lag angles just shift the tool to cut along one of the lead curves, but not the correct one. You can see in the picture how I can get really close to cutting the surface correctly, but its not quite right.

Hi

I think that multi axis contour tries to split the difference between the curve and the model surfaces.

So if you create a 0 offset surface of just the surface you want to machine in design and use that in the model selection rather than the entire model it should work as intended.

Actually you could probably do this with just the Machine/avoid table but I'd have to see the file to be sure

@a.laasW8M6T I tried making a separate surface and it helped a bit, but I was still left with a small portion unfinished. However, I was able to extend the surface giving the tool more room to "clear" the model and that solved the problem. Thank you for your idea!
