Up to Date (2022) Fusion 360 CAM Expressions list ???

Is it possible to get an actual list? The one I see is from 2016, and we all know there

has been "some" changes in Fusion since then... 😉

Thanks, and best regards,

Bernard

Not that it helps you much, but my current expressions range from "Oh, it can do that? Sweet!" to "WTF did you just do, Fusion?!"

@bernard5BABD can you share the link to what you have found from 2016? I don't believe anything on that list has been removed, but it's entirely possible there are new variables that haven't made it's way to the list.

One little tip, when you go to edit an expression, you can just start typing and it will pull up a list of everything, searching to the first letter you search. So, start with "A" and it would generate a full list I would expect.

@seth.madore I think the list @bernard5BABD is referring to is this one: one https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/fusion-360/learn-explore/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/CAM-E...

I am investigating whether we have a more updated list somewhere.

As Seth says, the set of parameters changes over time, and is also different per toolpath strategy. So, a flat list is a little misleading, even if it did contain all possible parameters.

We don't maintain any kind of "definitive list", but we could do that if it were useful to people.

And, in addition to the parameters, there are other aspects of expressions, such as operators and functions. This are essentially static, and only rarely change.

Good point, starting by typing A should bring a lot of possibilities, but it's not really a time-saving way to go for it.... 🙂

Thank you, Paolo, I believe I found it in a forum answer, but it must have been referring to this page.

Hi @bernard5BABD

After talking to our XD team, we do have an existing task open to create a more in depth Help topic about expressions (for future reference it's task number F360CXD-8308).

Hopefully there will an updated list in that help topic too, whenever it'll be updated.

I know it's not 100% what you were looking for, but I hope this solves it for you.

Cheers!
Paolo

The thing is, "task open" does not tell me when it's going to be closed....😋
But yes, thank you, it helps to know you are working on it, and I am not the only one thinking it could be useful.

Best regards,

Bernard

Like you said, an open task doesn't necessarily mean much for now, but our CXD team has this improvement on their roadmap and that's good news! Hopefully we'll see this update implemented at some point in the future.

I'll update this thread if and when I'll have news for you.

Cheers!
Paolo
