Undercut radius with which operation

Hi!

I have a handwheel that I want to mill on a 5-axis machine, which operation would you use to machine the R1 radius in the undercut?

depends on your orientation...parallel or scallop are my first choices.

Parallel works with undercuting? I don't think so!

Hi

Blend, Flow and Geodesic will all machine undercuts  in 5 axis(and 3 axis with Spherical tools)

Flow is probably the easiest one to start with.

I tried it with steep and shallow, it works, but the tool runs all the time through the material^^
I will try your suggestions

Ok with Geodetic I was finally able to get it right
