turning drilling check for live tool

Hi,

I've had this happen multiple times.  When grabbing a drill from the sample tool library to use for drilling on a lathe, the tool is set to a live tool by default.  This is understandable since it's the same tool library I would use on a mill.  The problem is it's very easy to forget to uncheck that box in the tool settings.  When the live tool motor turns on, it sounds like the main spindle is on and most lathes have very poor visibility when cutting, so it's really easy to not even notice until the operation is done that you didn't actually drill a hole (and you probably damaged something).  It would be great if there were a way for the software to quickly verify if you intended to use a live tool or not.

Hmm, this has bit me in the butt a couple of times. Fortunately, I did catch it before the machine ran, so I dodged a bullet... I agree that this would be a helpful improvement, although I'm not sure of the difficulty in implementation. I'll run it up the chain and see if they have any ideas

@seth.madore I would think there can be some sort of logic check (I'm not a programmer) like,

IF [Drilling operation] = work coordinate axis / spindle centerline AND tool = live,

THEN warning box asking if this is intended

( only case when yes would be an answer is when live tool is going one direction and spindle the other for extra surface speed)
