Trace Linking/Plunge Feedrate bug?

Hello,

I am engraving some text, using the trace toolpath. Highlighting the toolpath by clicking on it, I see the red plunge plunge entry lines, and green linking exit lines. However, when I run this path as a simulation, not all, but many of the red plunge lines are being displayed as green linking lines. This is a mismatch.

The strange part is that I have disabled linking moves, so there should not be any green lines displayed at all. My worry is if the program is using the linking feed instead of the plunge feed. The safe thing, in retrospect, is to set the plunge and linking speeds to be the same. However, this does appear to be a bug.

Essentially, with disabled linking moves, there should not be any green entry lines into the material. They should all be red plunge lines. It's difficult to know if the toolpath in the manufacturing workspace, or the toolpath in the simulation is the actual toolpath that is being run. If the simulation toolpath is correct, if the linking feed is higher than the plunge feed, could lead to damaged (engraving) tools.

Thanks for looking.

Hi.  I pulled up a Trace toolpath and looked at the toolpath data.  Lead-Out are green and Plunge are Red.  With Trace, I suppose you can have plenty of situations where a Plunge and a Lead-Out are in the exact same place.  I entered some bogus feed rate values just to make them jump out at me.

In simulation mode, Plunge are Red and Leads are Green.  Plunges are displayed when you check the Show Links box.

The Links, Leads, Cutting moves seem to be consistent.

The green lines are lead out moves.

Right, but you can see in the photo I included, that the colors are changing from manufacturing workspace to simulation workspace. The color shouldn't change. Also, I shouldn't have any green linking moves to begin with, since I disabled both lead-ins and lead-outs.

I suspect this is a bug...is there any way to submit this forum post to the bug department?
