Tormach Tool holder, can I make it transparent?

I like the Tormach tool holders, is there a way in the CAM view to hide them so they don't obscure the toolpath?   I thought I had this set but I don't seem to be able to anymore.

See picture.

Not to my knowledge. However, in Simulation mode, you can set the view to Transparent, which allows greater viewing of the toolpath. You can also turn off display of the tool holder if you wish by clicking on the drop down menu.

On the plus side, it is so easy to change your view of the part that having the holder transparent out of simulation mode is not quite necessary

The problem is when you are using a small, short mill on small parts, you end up having to go into the simulation in order to view the toolpath.   I can zoom around and see parts of it, but not the whole thing to really get a picture of what it's doing.

You could NOT select a holder. Is it really necessary to have it display at all? Unless you are working some tight clearances, it's really just window dressing.

Me, I'm lazy enough so I don't select the holder unless I ABSOLUTELY need it. And even then, I'm more likely to just draw out my tool with a larger shank, like the diameter of the holder  Smiley Tongue

How do you 'Not' select it?  If I edit the tool and go to the holder tab, I don't see anything there to all me to select 'None'.

You would have to create a new tool.

They do have a fix in the works for transparent tools and holders, but not sure on when that is going live

I was just looking this very topic up to remove mine.  It is hard to see the toolpath at the bottom of 1/4" hole with a 3/16" end mill with the holder in the way.  I have a Space Mouse so I kind of can get in there.

You can always simulate the toolpath and turn off the tool entirely. That's my current irritating workaround Smiley Very Happy

I just did the same search and am disappointed that I can not control it (transparent or off) during tool path confirmation as you can in simulate. Hopefully the fix is on its way.
