Toolpathing lifts too high when moving between different islands of machining

The tool gets raised way too high when moving between two different 'islands' of machining.  It triggers our Z limit causing the machine to stop halfway through the program.  The tool stays down to the clearance height and retract height that was set for the majority of the path, but when it is moving a far distance it decides to lift about three times as high... Any thoughts as to why it is doing this?  The operations that it is happening during are 3D pocket and 3D parallel.

@seth.madore Let me know if this works.  I have never shared a link before. It's a really funky setup with a detailed mesh, I am essentially carving the negative of the mesh to make a mold for casting.  I'm looking at Setup1 (5) and the first operation of a 3D pocket

That said;

Look at your Heights tab. Where is your Clearance and Retract set to?
What about your Ramp settings? Check your Ramp Clearance Height and see what that's set to..

 

I do know there is a built in 2 or 3mm window on some adaptive clearance moves, but it appears to be much more than that, judging from your pictures.

@seth.madore  Yeah it has been a monster to work with, it's a 6 foot tall detailed mesh of a human.  Anyways I think we have figured out the problem.  The mesh that I am cutting was the height that the tool raises up to, it was essentially ignoring my clearance height setting(0.5" from top of stock) to avoid hitting the mesh which was multiple inches higher than the top of stock.  I figured out a work around by slicing the mesh into multiple layers.  Each layer is the thickness of the stock we are cutting, so the tool raises appropriately.
