Toolpath not recognizing patch

I am new to Fusion. I am trying to create toolpath for a lathe part. I'd like to do a finishing toolpath that does not "groove" down into a groove but then does groove down to cut a chamfer after clearing the groove. I have tried to accomplish this by creating a patch that fills the groove that I want skipped, but it's not working. From what I have learned online, my problem is selecting the patch within the profile turning/geometry/model contour, I can't figure out how to select it.

passing over the groove as I would likepassing over the groove as I would likecutting the chamfer like I want but also cutting the groove that I don't like. I get this toolpath even with the patch.cutting the chamfer like I want but also cutting the groove that I don't like. I get this toolpath even with the patch.

I couldn't ever get the patch to work correctly so my work around was to draw the part without the groove but add points for both sides of the groove, I then did my profile as needed then cut the groove using the points that I created and just did a negative offset to get the correct depth.

Hi @Anonymous,

When you run into those situations you can draw a sketch and use that sketch for that specific model setting within that operation.

So the sketch becomes your contour for that operation.
