Tool path to face a surface using c axis rotation instead of X and Y

I am trying to find a way to face a surface in a spiral pattern using the c axis on a rotary rather than X and Y movement. I have the machine extension but have not found a tool path that works. Any help would be appreciated.

I think it is possible, but only with hard and drastic reprogramming a post processor!

But I'm not 100% sure!

What machine do you have?

The haas post supports an action command "usepolarmode" which can do what you want with say the spiral toolpath

hmmm I understand it this way that he want that the C-Axis turn around an the tool come every turn more near the center.

The polar output isn't the problem or I understand it totally false!

I think you can do this simple with manual programming.

Hi Marcus

this does actually do exactly what is required, see video for demonstration and sample file.
