Tool library default columns for each library

I would love to see the ability to set the default columns for each individual library folder I have setup for different types of tools.. For example, with endmills I want to see specific columns to sort (diameter, flute length, corner radius, etc.) but for example a separate library for twist drills I don't need corner radius but may want other options specific to that library.. Where it gets cumbersome is if I have a turning tools library, I want to see a completely different set of columns.. Hopefully this makes sense to enough users to get it implemented..?

It makes perfect sense, and this is something that's been brought up before. I too would like to see this, as I have my own libraries sorted by tool type

In a situation where you're showing tools only from a single folder, then I could see that working. But, frequently, you're showing tools from multiple folders at one time. How would you decide which columns to show then?

I'd imagine it to be handled in a similar way. Cloud, Documents or All would also have their own default columns. So if Cloud is selected you would view columns set for cloud. You wouldn't get different columns until you drill down and select a library at a lower level. i.e. default columns are taken from parent level. Therefore local, documents, all and cloud could all have different column defaults.

Most of the time, when searching tools you only see one folder library at a time, I guess the only time you will see multiple tool types from different folders is when looking at tools in the "Documents" view.. maybe a way to set defaults for that view as it is separate from the individual folders? Not sure the logistics with coding all that to make it work.. Being a former FeatureCam user, the libraries were split up based on tool type so default specs for each tool was based on its type.

To implement something like this, we need to think beyond "most of the time". For example, if "All" is selected on the left side, we are combining all tools, from all libraries and folders (provided they match the selection filters).

I'm not sure it would make sense to have a folder-specific set of columns, which is only used in specific scenarios, and then things "jump around" again if a higher-level selection is in place.

I'm not saying it's impossible -- maybe we can come up with something that could achieve the goal. Thanks for the suggestion!
