Tapered Ballnose Diameter

I've noticed an odd discrepancy when programming with tapered ballnose tools in the CAM workspace.

 

Although the tool parameters are set correctly in my tool library, once I actually load the tool into a setup the diameter changes. In the screenshot I've attached, my 1.5mm R0.75mm tool shows up as 1.41443mm R0.75mm. Yet when I go to edit the tool parameters, the correct values are visible again.

Is this diameter change going to affect the way my toolpaths are generated, or is this simply a case of a bug causing Fusion to show the wrong number?

 

From what I can tell, this diameter change only seems to occur with tapered tools that are configured as "ball." If I change the tool to a bullnose with the same radius, I no longer see this issue (but if I do that, my taper angle is no longer correct).

The issue is because what the tool manufacturer has given you for information is somewhat incorrect and resulting in this discrepancy. If the dimension for the radius and single-side taper is correct, the flute length should be 15.708

That said, I see that it's still showing the incorrect value in the toolpath dialog. I'll raise this with the tooling team and see what if they suspect where things are going wrong. 

 

The toolpath is going to be correct, assuming the dimensions of the tool are entered correctly.
