Synchronize active Setup Missing

Fusion asked me to restart to apply an update this morning and now the 'Synchronize Active Setup' Option is gone.

I looked through preferences to see if a setting had been toggled off but I couldn't see anything.

Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Hi @sam.byrnesKB9TR,

With the addition of manufacturing models to control part visibility we had to ensure there was no conflict.

So if you have manufacturing models present then the "sync visibility" is not there.

This is being looked at to see if we can have the 2 working together without conflict issues.

Hi.

I have version 2.0.9849, and i see the synchronize active setup button, strange.

And of course you have restarted again.

@Lennart_Losjo,

You will still see that if you don't have manufacturing models. When you make a MFG model it should not appear.

That's correct, I don't see it after I created a manufacturing model.

Strange. Wonder if that is by deigns, and if that is the case, why?

Does this limitation for "Synchronize Active Setup" also apply when I machine off of flat patterns?

I don't have manufacturing models on any of my parts, but i do have flat patterns i am machining on the project where this needed option is missing.

If Manufacturing models were fixed, can this also be applied to flat patterns?  As it is cumbersome turning models on and off. (If not, why not?)

If it at least would sync those setups not using flat patterns, then i would only have 3 setups i need to manually turn on and off.

Seeing this on Fusion 360 2.0.17244 x86_64

Would you be able to share your Fusion file here?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d/.f3z file in your reply.

Suddenly the "sync active setup" just went missing for me too from the bottom bar. This is very frustrating as I'm having to manually "show/hide" models to see which part I'm trying to work on.

I haven't changed how I am making Setups, and old files still have the "Sync active Setup" option on the bottom toolbar. New files don't. This started happening today.

I've tried restarting fusion. Not sure what to do. It's really slowing down my workflow.

Some screenshots of what you're seeing would be good to have as well.

Are you also working with Flat Patterns or the like?

Hello Seth,

I am not sure I am allowed to share these files publicly. But I can provide more information.
It seems that it's not all new files, just this one. There is a flat pattern in this file, but it's not being utilized in any way.

I am just working with solid models to machine.

Thank you

Hi -

Yes, it's the existence of the flat pattern that is preventing the availability of this synchronization. This is due to some internal limitations. We are looking into whether we can make this available again.

Thanks for reporting, and apologies for the inconvenience.

Hello Jeff,

I appreciate y'all getting back to me, thanks for the information. I'll try and keep flat patterns out of my machining files as a temp fix.

-All the best

My apologies, seems the activity here was neatly filtered into an area I don't see in my inbox unless I go look for it.

That said, I likely couldn't add the full file and would have had to create a sample.

Since it is acknowledged it relates to flat patterns, even those not used in setups, I will keep that in mind and hope for a solution soon.
