Support for DED Robot

Hey.

 

I am working with a direct energy deposition robot for additive manufacturing. 

Currently i am using another CAM software for this task.

Does the Fusion 360 CAM extension have compability for Additive manufacturing simulations?

What exactly do you mean by "Additive manufacturing simulation" ?


Curious to know what robot brand are you driving in your DED cell ? And what DED process are you driving? Wire/Powder & Arc/Laser? Curious on your setup.

I am currently working with both surface coating and additive manufacturing with the Kuka robot.

Basicly i am configuring CAD files and then create the G-code in a CAM software and then send the Gcode to other employees who then runs the KUKA robot.

 

I have attached a printscreen from the CAM software.

 

Why i am here asking for input is because i am thining of switching out main tools which is Solidworks and this CAM software for Autodesk Fusion360 and perhaps the Fusion360 extensions. 

 

I want to know more about your capabilities before i switch anything.

Will your software work with my hardware?

Thanks for the details.

Traditionally we support these processes with Autodesk PowerMill (PM).

You would use PM DED to generate additive toolpaths (surface coating and solid builds).
And use PM Robot to simulate and drive your KUKA Robot.

We are working to support some of this functionality in Fusion 360 but this is at research stage at the moment.
