Stock to Leave Mystery

I programmed a series of slots and counterbores.  I planned to leave 0.005" axial and radial on my initial pass but the program would not cut the two inner slots. I tried a ton of different options, checking that the geometry was good.  Sure enough, when I unchecked stock to leave it worked.  Any thoughts on this mystery?

Not a mystery at all, you have to do some math. As an example, if slot is .25 wide and you use .25 diameter tool, it will fail if you use "leave stock" because tool no longer fits in slot with given parameters.

Thanks for the quick reply.  All of the slots on the part are identical, I found it odd that two worked and the other two didn't.  The tool does fit well inside the slot.

OK, so it was a guess, (it did come up before),....... but without seeing the file you can only hope for another guess.

As mentioned by @Anonymous, if you can kindly attached your design to this post we will be able to have a look at it and assist you in this. You can save your design onto your local drive by going to File > Export, and saving it as Autodesk Fusion 360 archive file (*.f3d). Once saved you can attached that file to this post.
