Stock sizing error

Hello All!,

Im trying to figure out the input settings for CAM setup and am hitting an error. I attached a screenshot of what's going on. I drew my model in AutoCAD and imported into F360. The size is correct: 9.75" square. The stock size menu is telling me the width X & Y is less than the selected model. Not sure what to do here.

Thanks all.Screen Shot 2019-02-06 at 12.23.56 PM.png

Did you import a DWG through the data panel? If you did, did you set the units in AutoCAD, a lot of people don't do this. If the file is unitless it will default to CM on import, what is the size of the part if you use the inspect tool?

You might find it easier to export a DXF and use InsertDXF from the insert menu as then you can set the units on import.

Last I'd recommend you extrude the model and work from a solid, you only need to press "E" and enter a thickness.

Mark - I did the import using the data panel. I'm not sure if the units are set, but i will try the export DXF and try that out. What does it mean to extrude the model to work from a solid?

Although you can work from just sketches Fusion CAM will work better if you have a solid. If you press E in the model workspace and select the area between the square and the stars you can extrude a solid body. Maybe look at the help here, although it's a sketch exercise it gives a good overview of creating a solid part.
