Spiral Milling Outside In Issues

Hello All,

I have been having issues figuring out the proper way to go about milling a shelf that extends to the OD of parts. I want to mill this in a way so that I have a consistent spiral path. (Looks best when machined) I have tried using the Spiral tool path but have gotten nothing but issues. Currently I am using a 2d Contour and have changed the number of finishing passes to get it to start at the correct position, however I can only manage to have it mill a consistent spiral while milling from the inside out. When I have it mill an exterior feature it leaves small step overs the same way it does while using 2d Pocket. I attached an image and would like the outer toolpath to look similar to the inner toolpath.

Perhaps 2d Contour is the incorrect tool path for this. Would anybody know a better option?

easiest thing would be use 2D adaptive with the proper Z depth set.
