SPINDLE ROTATION LATHE

While selecting off Clockwise Spindle Rotation, dump file still output "tool.clockwise=true". I know I can do some work around, but should this be controlled by that selector in Tool Manager?

Looking at tool data page, there should be check mark in that box for clockwise rotation. Operantly a bug because if box is cleared it should result in "clockwise=false" and output M4,.... which will crash tool on contact.

The problem I have, is that, I need to output M4 cus tool is lefty, and left hand tool setup for face groove in tool manager is something completly diffrent, meaning will cut on oposite side of the part.

You are showing right hand tool in your screenshot, that runs with M3, clockwise as seen from back of the spindle.

I am still on old tool library, I cheat by using round shank because square shank has strait blade which crashes tool in simulation.

These would be my settings for LH face grooving tool.

When mounted on back turret, cutting edge of insert faces operator and spindle runs CCW (M4).

When I'm using left hand setup, I'm getting this...

Starting to look like cat and mouse game, can you share your file?

Sure, I think it's a bug inside CAM. I have check with other strategies and tools (mills, drills, borings), when tool is set right handed and spindle rotation is clockwise OFF, dump output is always clockwise=true.

You used turret 1, should be zero for back turret, then tool orientation is correct.

Ops, tool was moving sideways into the stock, not good for its health, this looks better.

It works. I don't know how. I'm trying to replicate, but can't. It has to be some sorcery.

Got it. start from creating new tool, and make it left hand and turn off clockwise rotation.

Also, in last tab of tool definition, make turret number zero, not one as you had it in original file.
