Simulation starts with stock in wrong position

Any idea why this started to happen? I start a simulation and instead of seeing the stock wrapping the body (black) in its current position/orientation I get a ghost "stock" somewhere next to it. Then I run the simulation and I see the tool moving correctly along the body cutting the ghost stock where it intersects it. The intersection with the "ghost" stock may also generate collision errors.

Without seeing your file, it's gonna be hard to point you in the right direction. I'd guess that the Setup may include some unintended selections, or the Stock definition has changed (possibly because of unintended selections).

A Setup should only contain the actual model being machined, not the parent directory or component top-level selection.

Can you share the A360 link to your file?

This only started happening today but I'll have to monitor it a bit more on my end to see why it happens. The setup is simple and there's only one body in it with the relative stock defined in the setup itself, no separate body or some such editable thing.

Once I click around (select another setup, another operation) the simulation starts correctly with the stock in the right position and then I don't know how to reproduce it anymore. I'll come back to this  once I figure out what I might be doing differently just before it happens.

I've been seeing this same issue. The first time running simulate tool paths on a part it shows the stock rotated to model orientation instead of setup orientation. After closing and restarting simulation the stock returns to normal. Any proceeding simulation on that or any other part is fine. Only seems to happen on the first simulation after first start of Fusion 360.

Can you capture this in a Screencast?

The screencast doesn't appear to be visible in my last reply. Here is a link just in case. https://autode.sk/2SNxAuK

Interesting. I think I have an idea of what's causing that.

What is the Setup Stock of your last Setup? Is that the one you are seeing?
What happens if you select ONLY the Setup you wish to simulate, or CTRL+select each one  intentionally?

Can you send me that file? Drop the Public Link to it in a PM to me if you wish.
