Siemens Mill Turn Post Processor for Sinumerik 840d?

Hello everyone,

can the "siemens mill turn" post (https://cam.autodesk.com/posts/post.php?name=siemens%20mill-turn) be used on any mill-turn machine with a siemens sinumerik 840d ? Or what are the common changes that need to be done? The post gives you some checkboxes and spaces to fill in your max spindle speed and all that stuff when exporting with fusion cam, but i feel like this cant be all it needs because there could be a lot of different software versions or commands used (??) I´ve seen that the post outputs "SP1" for the spindle position instead of "C" which i´d need; but that should be an easy fix. The machine that i´m trying to supply does not have a Y-axis but is said to switch all y-coordinates to C+X on her own, so the post is allowed to output y coordinates. In the end i will have to try a lot of stuff on my own but i kinda wanna make sure its safe since im still new to CAM manufacturing. I appreciate everyone for a chat, especially if you´re in a similar situation or have a similar machine.

Greetings from germany

our 840 has a great simulator on the controller - test the generic post with that. We had to pay someone to make one for our CLX-450 TC as there is a lot of things going on.

thank you @programming2C78B , i think our machine (index g200 for turning and milling) will come with a proper simulation function as well, so that will be a good idea. having someone make a post from scratch is probably a question of money, i´d hear around what these guys charge in that case..

Awesome to see that you can be found in the autodesk board as well! --- Ich habe schon ein paar Videos von euch gesehen und die Website angeschaut und ich werde mich sicher melden wenn ich allein nicht weiterkomme! Ich finds super, dass ihr auch hier im Forum vertreten seid! 😄
