Hello,

Trying to use probe WCS to make some simple measuements in Fusion but the generic post does not seem to want to write said results in a file. Without being confident in the ability of the post to make the measurements i want i'm also unsure about spending any credits. My control is Siemens Sinumerik 840d on a 5axis positional machine.

I've only changed the Z-height of the post so my machine doesn't crash into the table on every tool change. For some reason Z=0 is at table height.  Inspection_file.nc was previously .mpf (which is correct for 840d control) but i couldn't upload it to the forums. Ergo i changed it to .NC just for the upload.

Question is: Why does the machine make proper measurements i like but they're not written to a file and how do i correct that? If i have this functionality i'll be much more likely to buy a day of extensions now and then to supplement Measure WCS with more options but i'm not able to justify said expense for something i should be able to do without. Sinumerik control returns me a beautiful results screen on cycle end so apparently some "write" command is missing.

i've dabbled in posts a wee bit to make them suitable for our machines but i'm not confident in a major rehaul.

Machine is Spinner U5-1520 - Sinumerik 840d control, 5 axis with an additional stationary table. CNC code from the generic posts is good, i've had no problems with it so far and been using it for a while. I'm only bothered by this bit.

Hello @blaz.znidarsic,

As CYCLE100 isn't a part of basic package of sinumeric measuring cycles, we decided to use display of measurement result screen instead of logging in a file in our Generic post.
If you have CYCLE100/CYCLE101 available you can use it to activate/deactivate logging into a file.
