Setting WCS on a Horizontal Machine

Hello all,

i need help setting up to program a horizontal cnc with B indexing around Y.

Ideally i would set up the G54 in the center of rotation and go from there but what if the models dont exactly match their real life counterparts? I tried setting up the parts with each having their own G54 in simulation works fine but then the machine goes way off to the side of the parts(wrong x). It seems that in working this way the F360 calculates the B rotation from the G54 which clearly isnt in the center of rotation.

How can i solve this problem?Is there a problem with the post processor or is it me? Also the machine dosen't have a G54.4(Dynamic offset)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Would you be able to share a sample Fusion file that shows your attempts at establishing proper WCS setups?

Hello @seth.madore ,

For now i've been using the G54 from center of rotation for some simple parts and only one part on the tombstone, but now the company wants me to program 2 diffrent parts with each having 4 Operations but i dont know where to being if i can't use G54 in the center of rotatation.

I hope the 2 examples are enough because im on my private account and dont have a subscription.

Have you tried using the "Tool Orientation", if you are just doing indexing to position and then doing the Operations then have a look at the attached example file, it looks to post out correctly using the Fanuc Post Processor that you uploaded.

Is the image below anything like what you are tring to do ???

Yes exactly.

I think i am explaining it badly.

I think i am using the tool orientaion correctly in F360, but as i said the 3D models don't match the real thing so i cant use the center of rotation. If i put the G54 directly on the part it works for B0, but after indexing 90 degrees the machine dosent follow the rotation (continues to work as it was B0) (simulation works perfectly).  I've been searching how other people tackle this problem and they use, dynamic offsets, G52 local coordinate system, G65 macros(Generated by Cam) but this is really beyond me.

Any suggestions?
