Second Setup Origin Selection

I frequently divide my operations up into different setups because I have limited tool holders etc.

Lets say I have OP1 which is to face a part, I use Fixed size cylinder and a Origin of a Stock Box Point with Z0 being the top face of the material. OP2 I have Stock from preceding and rest machining checked, setup origin is stock box point.

I want the setup to be the same fixed cylinder but with the Z of zero on the part top not the stock that I removed in OP1.

I could likely do this with a sketch, but I am thinking there needs to be an easier way.

Simply use Model Point instead of Stock Point.

I thought this, but my model is not centered in the material. so I wany my xy to be probed  as the center of a cylinder and my Z to be the top of that process step I am on.

Ok so this doesn't work as I need it to. I really need to get my tool probe setup finished so I don't have to do this anymore.

Setup 2. Model Point vs Stock point are not in the same XY position.

Why would they be, they are two very different locations in real life..

Hi

Create a sketch on the top of the part and project the stock onto the sketch, you can then use selected point in the setup to now have the XY on stock and Z on the top of the part.
