Running multiple parts on different WCS

I've never had to run multiple parts from fusion this far.. im clueless how to program it? same part or different parts. We have 4 different details, 480 parts each. i want to run the left and right at the same time or at least run 2 of the same at the same time. can anyone direct me to a tutorial or links or if its easy enough explain it to me? 

 

thanks and sorry for all the posts lately, im more clueless than i thought on fusion!

Im not a pro but the pattern tool under the cam section is really cool.

you could basically make one set of toolpaths and the pattern tool replicates its over each part. then your wouldn't really need multiple work offsets if you had a fixture with known locations.

You can do it all under one WCS or use multiple. Depends on your fixturing to what will be easier or work best. If you want to use multiple work offsets then edit the setup > post processor > work coordinate systems 0 and 1 = g54, 2 = g55, 3 = g56 and so on. You can set it to order by operation or tool. You will also need to check the multiple WCS box when actually posting your code.

 

When doing multiple pieces in 2 or more vices or having 2 or more different operations on the table at the same time I use different WCS for each piece. If I am cutting a load of pieces out of a sheet or something I will model it all in CAD and do it all in the same work offset.

so in edit under setup tab, if i goto post processor, and change the 0 to 1 it will be set to g55? and i can basically just copy a setup and change the wcs?

Yes, but both 0 and 1 are G54. 2 is G55. 3 is G56, 4 is G57...

 

Dont know why G54 has two numbers but it is what it is.

i get an error saying that the post processor must be customized for tool clearances and the sort... do i need to do that? all the vices are the same brand, i mean everything is pretty much the same z height on the table.. if i do have to.. how do i?

Depends what post you are using. The fanuc posts automatically add a G28 Z move in when switching between WCS. I usually go through the posted code and delete it as moving Z to home moving between pieces every time wastes a lot of time.

 

the error message you’re getting is more of a warning message. Post it and check it.

ya i didnt really read to much into the error.. the error was about using 0 and 1. i didnt read through you message enough at first lol. looks like it will get the job done. i might see if it does that g28 z0 move. thanks for the help. i had no idea it would be that simple.
