Programming for 2 axis machines?

I'm almost certain i have seen it done before, but i cant seem to find anything online(at least with my 5 minute search).

but basically we have a 3 axis prototrak, no tool changer, and id like to program a set of holes to be drilled and tapped. but just want to program for the position, the guy running the machine will switch tools as necessary, and bring the quill down to drill.

again im almost positive this can be done, just need some insight!

There is a Prototrak conversational post. For 2 axis use, set the user variable "useZaxis" to false and you should be good to go.

@seth.madore sorry for the thread necro but I'm having issues with this post. See my thread (https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/fusion-360-manufacture/drilling-op-goes-to-origin-after-every-hole/m-...). The default for this post is unchecked for "use z axis" and for drilling ops it sends the tool to the origin point between every hole.
