I have this project I am trying to run, it was a Solid Works File, I uploaded it Fusion 360 no problem went to Manufacturing set up all the tools and the rest of the parameters, posted it with a Haas generic post processor for a Mini Mill, I touched off the tools, touched off X and Y loaded the program, hit start ..... the spindle starts and the coolant starts but that's it ..... I attached a copy of the file to this post< can someone please look at it and explain the error of my ways ... thank you George

Does the control give any message? What vintage is your MiniMill?

Oh, and just so you're aware, the Adaptive toolpath is cutting at all one Z level, it's going to produce a part that is not reflected by the model. Also, Adaptive is a roughing toolpath, it's not going to be leaving a nice finish on the walls, it will have lots of scallops in it.

Can you attach your .nc file? I guess it's a G-Code that your Machine can't read or something like that

The Mini Mill can't be 4 years old, I think we just finished paying for it ..... No, the machine gives us no error message, and if you look at the G code it seems like it should go to the next point .... however it should cut the shoulders, can you tell me what tool path to use so I can get the different levels and the correct finish .... In short Help 🤠 Thanks George

You've shared the Fusion file. Please share the .NC code as well 🙂

So, given the age of the machine, I assume it's a Nex Gen Control on it?

I sent you just the program because you said I chose the wrong operation, which one should I use. I want to machine the different Hight pockets, I can send you my post but it is not working for all the reasons you mentioned   ..... thanks  George

The code that you sent to the machine? Yeah, that's what we want to see. Not the post processor that you use in Fusion, but the code that was produced from the file.

Additionally, you've got another thread going in regards to post processors. From that thread, you indicated that you've been using the same post since 2009 (which pre-dates Fusion 360 btw and also changes the age of your MiniMill). We should close the loop on that thread so we can make sure you're using the correct post processor to begin with.

Okay, thanks. I'm betting it's the G17G90 line that's hanging it up, because everything else looks good. Either that, or it's not liking the feedrate of 500 IPM....

Do you have any code from another CAM package that you've run successfully in your machine, and can you share it here?

Ok brother I got rid of the G40s and G17s and knocked the feed rate to 50, I touched off the tool at 1" above the plate so it would not cut, loaded the post, hit cycle start and away we went ..... it is now running, however you told me that it is not going to cut the pockets, everything is going to be flat, what process should I use for this job .... I tried to send you a program I ran on this Mini Mill just last week but it says the post (G code) is the wrong format, it gave me some kind of red screen with all the extensions Fusion likes mine was not one of them 🤠

Well, the NC code that you shared is showing different Z levels than the Fusion file that you shared. In your NC code, you had appropriate levels set, but your Fusion file was this:

Due to the nature of your model (one solid and 4 surface models), I'd actually recommend using a 3D Adaptive toolpath instead:

Chances are that F500. is going to make an appearance many times in the program. You can change that here:

In regards to your other files you've tried to share: if it's a file that can be opened as a text document, just change the extension to .txt or something common.
