Problems with turning an elipse bowl

Can someone take a look at this file and help me out.  I have this part that I am trying to bore the inside elipse.  I can get a tool path but it consists of a bunch of line segments and not arcs which would give me the best finish and appearance for our customer.  When running the code as it coimes out of fusion it looks horindous with all of the facet line segments. I need to get a toolpath that is as smooth as possible with as few arcs as possible.

@mjamesUWLTP

Unfortunately the new turning strategies do not have toolpath smoothing capabilities (yet). As a temporary workaround you can use the legacy profile turning strategy (which can be turned on by checking the "old profile strategy" check box in the preferences->preview features menu. In the operation, turn on "smoothing" from the passes tab. This will smooth the linear toolpath into circular arc moves.

I did as you suggested and do not see any smoothing option in my passes tab. Screen shot added for clarity. [cid:image001.png@01D6F0B2.786072C0]

@mjamesUWLTP Also, make sure you're creating a turning profile strategy (and not turning profile roughing or turning profile finishing).

@mjamesUWLTP Not sure why but turning spun profile smoothing off in the setup made the toolpath work. Also, I had to suppress the previous finishing process (since you're doing rest machining).

I wanted to add to this conversation.  I was programming an external ellipse and the toolpath wasn't following the geometry.  I turned on the legacy toolpaths as mentioned previously, but this didn't work, so I turned them off.  After I turned them off the original toolpaths I made regenerated and now follow the path perfectly.  Very strange, but I'm glad it worked!
