Problems with CAM

We need to make a hook that has beveled parts and a cylinder that acts as an attachment at the bottom of the hook. We tried using 2D and 3D operations leaving a 10 mm stock in the setup to attach the part to the vise. Unfortunately, all our attempts proved to be in vain, we would like to kindly ask for support in order to understand how to make our piece. Attached you will find the photo of the piece and the file.

Thank you in advance for your availability, we expect response as soon as possible, given the upcoming examination.

Good evening

Please edit your post and add the model and the photo, neither were attached to your original post.  You have 30 minutes to edit your original post, after that just reply in a new post.  If you do not know how to attach your Fusion 360 model follow these easy steps. Open the model in Fusion 360, select the File menu, then Export and save as a F3D or F3Z file to your hard drive. Then use the Attachments section of a forum post to attach it.

Thanks for the reply, I am attaching both the file and the photo.

Cattura.JPGIn addition to what we wrote in the previous message we would like to know if the orientation of the piece is correct for the processing that we will have to do.

Your file does not contain any Setups or attempts at toolpaths. Thus, I'm not sure where things went wrong for you.

Please explain what size stock you are using, what your machine and tooling are, and where you were running into issues.

These are missing precisely because from the beginning we find processing problems, in fact I wanted to have some advice on how to operate. Now I'm attaching the setup file, the possible steps I'm not sure about. I am not familiar with the program so I found myself in difficulty having to use these tools. If you could give me a possible list of steps to take to get the piece in the picture I would be grateful.

You also didn't tell us what you are using for a machine. Based on your toolpaths, I assume this at least a 4 axis machine?

Unfortunately, the exercise that was requested does not fall within our competence, so we do not even know the machine used. We didn't have much information, so we're going to try and figure out how to play the piece. So we are relying on the forum to know how the piece is made.

Hi @luciano.larocca, In the Technology Centers we suggest people take Autodesk's self-paced learning Linked HERE.  The Learning provided in the self-paced area is great and you can do it at your leisure.

Thanks for the advice, we have already seen some videos, but we continue to experience difficulties in the procedure

You really need to be more specific in what you mean by "experience some difficulties", it's leaving us guessing as to what's gone wrong.

Nevertheless, I made this ScreenCast, hopefully it sorts you out some:

Thanks for the video response, very clear and efficient. Do you have any suggestions for machining the cylinder that is at the end of the hook?

Make a fixture and stand it up on end, using a 2D Contour or Circular toolpath to finish it. I'd also assume it is threaded, so take that into account

Good evening, during the realization of the CAM of this piece we encountered a problem in flow 1 (5) of setup two, since compared to the first flow the tool (which is identical) is unable to eliminate all the material of the surface chosen for the processing (which is the same as that of the first flow). We would like to know what the problem is; and in case a possible solution. Thank you goodbye
