Problem with tapping with chip breraking

Hello,

I am trying to use tapping with chip breaking function, but I can't because I get errors when I post process. I created a simple part just to show this problem. I upload this part and the code I get after post processing. Can someone explain what I am doing wrong, how to solve this?

Hi there,

Thanks for posting! I've run the file on a different post processor and it seems to work fine, on the Siemens  SINUMERIK 810D it doesn't. So I'll look into the post and see where the issue is arising.

So the reason for the error was that chip-break tapping wasn’t set in the post – it's been added in from the 840d post so it should hopefully work now.

So upon further consultation the post siemens-810d.cps doesn’t support tapping with chip breaking at all - I think it's because the Siemens 810D controller doesn’t support this drilling cycle, so would just error on the controller.

The attached post (v2) will support tapping with chip breaking, so the error won’t occur in Fusion but the output NC code might not run on the controller.

Let me know how you get on.

Thank you, the code looks good now. Our machine is a little bit broken right now, but I will try this when it's fixed. I think it should support tapping with chip breaking because I remember using this function, but not sure if it was written with controller or with another CAM software.

Also your uploaded post processor is missing "Use radius for arcs" function, but I fixed it by copying the missing line from the old pp.
