Post Processing Tool Names Help.

Hi Everyone, I'm hoping somebody can help shed some light on an issue we are having with post processing. I'm still pretty new to fusion 360 and cant seem to get past this hurdle.

We're using Fusion for CAD/CAM on a DMG MORI CMX70U, with a double gripper tool change magazine. Now, the machine will not respond to tool numbers (i.e. T2 M6), it only accepts tool names (T="14MM_DRILL" M6). So my question is, is there any way around post processing tool names instead of numbers through Fusion360? I've tried adding a comment in the edit tool section of the tool library, but it still posts the G Code as T2 M6, and the machine wont accept it.

I'm happy to manually edit the NC Code in Visual Studio Code if that's my only option. I'd just like some clarity on this burning question that has quite literally destroyed my brain these past two days.

Thanks in advance

Is that a Sinumeric controller?

Try to look for the "Tool as name" property.

If this is not available in the post processor you are using, send me a message and I will add this for you 🙂
