Part handoff on dual spindle lathe

We have our first dual spindle lathe (Haas DS30) coming soon and I am preparing CAM for the machine.  I would like to have a template set up so all I have to do is drop in different part models and let fusion do the heavy lifting for me, it would be really nice to not have to hand code anything.

I am curious how exactly the Spindle Chuck/Return functions work.  Is it possible to hand a part off from the Sub back to the Main spindle using these features?

Our raw stock is 7-11" dia. bar and it is not very round, and saw cuts are not always perpendicular so we like to do a face and OD cleanup, then flip and begin the real machining.  With this machine I would load material into the sub and run the cleanup, transfer from sub to main to perform the majority of the cutting, then transfer from the main back to the sub and finish machining.

I'm sure I could put in a Manual NC command to perform this but that seems like it may be prone to error....
