Contact Point Boundary is typically the solution. Can you share your file here?

So we want to use a combination of a couple of tools we have access to in the dialog:

1) Contact Point Boundary. Let's turn that on.

2) Now that it's turned on, we are going to encounter the "waterfall" issue, where everything is going everywhere. We don't want that, so we are going to do one more thing;

3) Avoid/Touch Surfaces. We are going to select the areas we don't want to machine:

Play with it to suit your needs.

One bit of advice though; You may likely find better toolpath finishes if you break things up into multiple toolpaths and toolpath choices. Parralel is GREAT for shallow surfaces, less so for more steep areas. I'd suggest Scallop 3D Contour or Blend for the steeper areas
