Situation
I work with two paid Fusion license states. Sometimes I have temporary access to the Fabrication Extension (company license). Other times I use my own paid license without the Fabrication Extension.
After working in my own files while the Fabrication Extension is active (from a company I sometimes work for as external engineer), later when I open the same files on my own license, many existing 3-axis operations become locked and cannot be regenerated.
Error
Fusion shows the error: “Your license does not allow generating operations using ‘Tool Orientation’.”
Unjust locked
However, these are normal 3-axis toolpaths on a 3-axis machine and I did not intentionally use Tool Orientation, tilt, or any advanced nesting features. In Compare and Edit, the Tool Orientation-related parameters appear to be default/off (Tool Orientation = Setup WCS orientation, Tilt = No, Flip axes = No), yet Fusion still blocks toolpath generation. New operations created from scratch can generate normally, but existing operations remain locked.
Expected
If an operation does not actually use Fabrication-only Tool Orientation or tilt features, it should regenerate on a license without the Fabrication Extension. Alternatively, Fusion should clearly identify which specific setting requires the extension and provide a supported way to remove that dependency.
Actual
Operations get flagged and later cannot be regenerated, effectively locking me out of my own CAM programs. My privately owned programs get infected when they are "Fabrication‑extension‑touched".
Later, on my own paid license without that extension, Fusion refuses to regenerate them, effectively locking me out of my own CAM library.
Held hostage / impact
As this has been going on for some time this becomes like a hostage of my work. I have made many very complex programs over the years, with many selected parts and careful setups. This has a big impact because a big part of my CAM library is now effectively locked to only be usable with the extension, even though I have never used Tool Orientation and never intended to subscribe to that extension.
Tried
I tried Reset Defaults, but it made no difference.
The only thing that works is to delete the old operations and remake every operation from scratch. This will cost me hundreds of hours!
