OD turning - variable depth of cut

Hi,

We're often working in super duplex or inconel materials, removing a lot of material.

and one strategy to increase tool life, is to "taper" each cut so we do not get notch wear on our inserts.

Is there a way to get Fusion to output OD turning cycles like this?

The DoC would start at, for example, 3mm, and taper off to 1mm.

The next cut would be cylindrical, which means the DoC starts at 1mm and ends at 3mm.

Repeat the above 2 steps until the finished profile is reached.

Thanks for any input!

No, this isn't possible with Profile Roughing. However, you could sketch a line to drive the Profile Finishing toolpath, input multiple stepovers and you get a quasi-roughing toolpath:

Thank you seth,

That's not the ideal solution; but I think the only way to get it to work is via sketch lines.
a bit of work to get this programmed, but it should save us time in the long run.

Thanks!
