I'm still a newb. I'm trying to create a toolpath for a filligree pattern but there's too many warnings and collisions.  I'm just trying to apply a 2d contour which took me HOURS to select each line (540 chains) to be exact and I'm not sure what I can do to optimize it.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Here's the link to my project!

Project surface onto plane, pick 90 % of lines with single click then work on rest of it, takes about 5 minutes.

Did,t pay much attention to tool path except for lowering lead in / out values.

Trace would also be good choice.

I have a trick for your selection of these 540 chains...  create a sketch on the face, use project or intersect, this will convert all your edges into a sketch.  Delete the ones you don't need (maybe the outside of the frame, stuff like that), there will be very few.  Go back in CAM, and under contour selection, just pick the sketch by clicking on it in the tree.  It will select everything for you just about instantly.

I did not play with the toolpath, just wanted to give you the selection trick.

Sorry, I kind of realize now that I re-explained what you had said.  I didn't understand what you meant when I read your post, now I get that it was the same thing that I said.  Oh well, now it was explained in a few ways!

Now I got a new issue! When I project the image it projects onto the top plane. How do I get it to project onto the bottom like you were able to?

Offset plane to wherever you want it and start new sketch, project any surface onto it and you get sketch of surface outline.

Basically you offset plane to desired location from where origin is, positive or negative direction and distance of your choice.
