Hi,

just starting out with Fusion 360. I'm trying to cut out the parallelogram shape in the screengrab.

I can do this with adaptive clearing from a rectangular stock but wanted to just cut a slot around the edge to save wasting material. However I get invalid toolpath displayed.

I saw another suggestion on this forum stating that I needed to adjust the bottom height which I've done but no progress.

Anthing basic I might be doing wrong here?

The "Slot" toolpath is for exactly that; slots. There are no slots on your part. 

It seems that (without seeing your file) that 2D Contour would do just what you are looking to do. Set it to Ramp (Linking tab) so it doesn't plunge straight into material

what you suggested seemed to work. I've shared the file with the updated config ou suggested. Anything else obviously wrong I'd appreciate your feedback.
