Hello,

I need to make a bunch of these  1144 steel forks for a project I am doing. I have made one, came out find but I am seeking ideas on how I can speed up the fork's deep slot machining?  Part starts out as round bar stock held in a suitable collet, in a vise.  I have a variety of basic carbide tooling available. I am using a rounded corner mill right now. Fill attached. Picture included here.  Thanks for your help, jgaertner

Turn it sideways and use a key cutter/slitting saw

Hello Seth, That is the way I use to do it on my manual Bridgeport but I was hoping to take advantage of the CNC mill and also use my Haimer for a more accurate set up. To be honest, slitting saws scare me! ha.. ha.. ha...  Here I was making the other male part for this kind of fork and eye bolt 6 years ago.
