Need help with creating a toolpath for inclined/angled slot

I am trying to create a toolpath for an angled slot as shown in the image below.

I'm not having much luck with a 2D trace and I'm hoping someone can tell me the correct way to do this.

If it helps, here's a link to my shared design: https://a360.co/4213uX6

Thanks!

Trace drives it's toolpath off the center of the tip. As you've discovered, it's going to gouge the surface.

There are some other toolpaths to try, but before I provide more detail, I'm wondering about the goal. Is this a practice block that you're just playing around with for the sake of CAM practice, or is this something physical you need to make?

Options:

Smaller tool and Parallel

.250" tool and Project (it might not work, due to tool being same size as slot)

Flow/Blend with a ball endmill

Other option(s); tip the part at the angle needed

EDM sinker if square corners are needed throughout

It is a practice block that is for CAM practice and to make my first cuts on my first-ever VMC. I want to run various ops and tool changes on my new-to-me VMC.

I will give those ideas a try later today.
I'm not sure what EDM sinker is, but I will search for it.
Thanks
