My cnc plasma cutter keeps starting inside the metal i want to keep. How do i set the post to start on the opposite side of the line?

Can you share your file so we have a better sense of what's going wrong?
File > Export > Save to local folder, return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

Are you programming off of a sketch or a solid model? It's possible that it's flipping what's waste material and what's not

Usually when you select an edge or a sketch line for your Profile you will see a Red arrow, if it is on the outside and you want it on the inside if you just click on the arrow it will move to the other side ot your selection and the Leadin/out will change sides. Much better as Seth @seth.madore rightly says to upload your file, it may not be as simple as I have shown depending on the shape you are trying to cut 🙂 🙂

First image selecction with Red arrow inside gives you second image.

Third image with Red arrow outside gives you fourth image
