morphed spiral rollovers cutting into flat area beyond selected concavity

I'm trying to cut the concavity, but the morphed spiral tool path cuts into the flat area (denoted by red arrow in attached screenshot). I've tried the parallel and scallop tool paths, but they unnecessarily cut well beyond and below concavity and I think they also cut into the flat area, though it appears they do so less.

I've attached the project file - does anyone have any ideas as to what I could change to fix this?

Thanks in advance!

I selected a new boundary and removed the "contact only" check. Is this what you're looking for?

It also looks like you're going to gouge pretty good unless you use the previous adaptive step to clear more material.

Thank you very much for the reply.

This looks much better than what I have. I tried toggling "contact only" and didn't see any change. So presumably the real difference between the two tool paths is that you used an open chain to define the machining boundary rather than the silhouette I had. I just tried changing my machining boundary to the same open curves and it appears much like yours. I took screenshots of the tool path with "contact only"  selected and deselected and they look exactly the same. I'm not sure why the open curves have such a drastically different outcome from the silhouette...Any ideas?

Regarding the gouging and the previous adaptive step - I'm not sure how to increase the area that is removed (I used 1mm under the "Stock to Leave" option) without also cutting into the actual part... Do you have any suggestions?

Thank you!

Actually, after simulating the suggested tool path - it's much too aggressive.

I was able to use the trim tool path plugin to remove the round over that's in my tool path, but this seems less than ideal.

Hopefully someone sees this and can suggest something...
