Model won't center in stock

Hey All,

I cam'd my part up last night and everything looked good. This morning I imported some soft jaws and moved my part around a bit. Now it seems I cannot get my part centered in my .875 diameter stock. One edge sticks out of the stock no matter what I have tried.

I don't know what I did that would have caused this. Any ideas?

Thank you,

Chris E.

Dragging parts around in design is always a risky proposition. You have a couple options:

1) Just model your stock in Design (using proper constraints and joints to the model) and select that in MFG as your Stock

2) create a sketch and an axis that gives you something to select for the normal method of stock definition

Modeling the stock worked. Thanks Seth!

That is going in the "tricks" box.
