Milling slots

Hello,

i want to do slots with a 0.6 mm bit following lines that are on a sketch. What would be the easiest way? I tried to project my sketch on the body surface, but i couldn't. The sketch is "Diapason 635/25", the body is "fretboard". I 've heard about "trace" (tho did not use it yet) but is there other ways?

Thanks for the help

Yes, Trace is probably the easiest for what you are doing, see image below, I have set it up with the slots running across from the angled top edge to the opposite angled top edge and moved all the Sketch lines down using the "Move/Copy" facility in "Design" mode to the top of your Fretboard model and made them stay on the edges all along the taper so the depth of all the slots is exactly the same.

If you want to cut each slot using multiple depth passes because it is a small cutter then you can use the "Axial Offset" option to step down, I left the example at a single pass for clarity.

Anyway, have a look at the image below and try out the attached Fusion file, just run the simulation and see if it is close to what you need, it can easily be "tweaked" if needed 🙂 🙂 🙂

Thanks man. The sketch was just too high. Ok also for the axial offset passes...
