manual tool change

I am using the personal version.  I do not have an automatic tool changer. I tried posting a setup having a number of tool changes.  I received the following message:

This suggests that each operation involving a different tool will require a seperate post. Is this the intended consequence? If so than it is considerably different than not supporting automatic tool changes.  Can some clarify.

Yes, you need to post out each operation. If you have multiple operations using the same tool, you can post those out together. Otherwise a new tool requires a new posting/program.

I can see why they're doing away with this feature as machines with a toolchanger tend to be in a production environment. But if the tools are set up in the tool library with a manual tool change selected, multiple operations should still post. The majority, if not most, of machines that require a manual tool change will be in a hobby environment so it seems extreme to remove the entire feature of being able to post multiple operations with different tools. Yes, take away the ability to use an ATC, but taking away the ability to do manual tool changes too, really?

I find it also very annoying and it really disturbs my workflow that I can't use manual tool changes. I too find it extreme and wish that the option to export a program with more than one tool (with MANUAL tool change) would be brought back again. I always have issues with the cnc at the fablab if I dont do this. The others usually use other CAD / CAM programs. I'd really wish I could carry on doing it with Fusion360...
It's just a hobby so it makes no sense to get an expensive subscription for me.

Agree, just spent a couple years tinkering with the cad portion of fusion and know enough just to be dangerous, than spent several months tinkering with the cam side trying to wrap my head around tool paths. well thinking I had a project ready to try in real time, I find that It wont post the complete file because I have to change tools for different cuts....

I agree that commercial businesses should not be piggy backing off of a hobby or education license, If your producing and making income, than pay for the software...period.

I just can not justify paying upwards of $1000 Canadian a year for maybe a dozen custom pieces for my RC hobby, I could just have a shop make it up and be done with it.

Why could they not just block the ATC aspect of it and let us do our manual changes? Rapid feeds? Have no clue if I even need them on my used lms3990?

I love the "creation" portion of the hobby, I love the Idea of if I break a part that is obsolete, I can try to make it.

I'm fully open to supporting the software, but not at current cost's, If they were to come up with something like a 

Advanced Hobby License  for say $100 a year, I would be fine with that.

Any thoughts on this?
