Hi All Im working on getting the machine simulator working but its not displaying the machine when simulating.  Ive downloaded and selected the mill in my set up, it shows up in the browser tree but does not display when I simulate.  Is there a setting Im missing?

Thanks

Here is the file for a look.

Check the Machine Visibility setting down the bottom, Ctrl + M is the shortcut.

Also make sure you are choosing "Simulate With Machine" rather than just "Simulate"

Got it, Thank you sir!  Machine visibility was on, and I was only hitting simulate.  Simulate with machine was the missing link.  Much appreciated!

I do have a few more questions. Ive looked in Preferences and sim dialog for these but don't see settings for these.

  • Why does the machine model have to download every time you create a new setup? Can't you just select the one from the browser that has already been downloaded into my browser?
  • The X axis is locked in my set up when simulating Id like to see the machine movement with the base locked off instead of the table being locked. Not seeing a setting for this?
  • When collision detection is on, does this detect every instance of any collision, and does it recognize everything on the machine, including vices, fixtures, tool setter etc if the tool, head or spindle comes in contact with something else it's not supposed to???  How reliable is it?
  • When simulating multiple op parts, for example (op 2 of a 2-sided part) is there a setting that will automatically orient the viewport to display the correct orientation of the model & machine or do you have to manually change the view each time?
  • Is there a way to show op 1 already machined away like in the real world when your simulating op 2 to help with visualizing fixturing in soft jaws for example?

Thanks

Hi

  • Why does the machine model have to download every time you create a new setup? Can't you just select the one from the browser that has already been downloaded into my browser? You don't need to download it every time, just once. you must be selecting the machine from the Fusion library each time, you should be selecting it from your Cloud/local library
  • The X axis is locked in my set up when simulating Id like to see the machine movement with the base locked off instead of the table being locked. Not seeing a setting for this?  Make sure you have the Viewpoint set to "Machine Base"

  • When simulating multiple op parts, for example (op 2 of a 2-sided part) is there a setting that will automatically orient the viewport to display the correct orientation of the model & machine or do you have to manually change the view each time? Yes turn on sync view and visibility

  • Is there a way to show op 1 already machined away like in the real world when your simulating op 2 to help with visualizing fixturing in soft jaws for example? Yes just make sure you have your stock for op2 etc set to "From preceding setup" and "Continue rest machining" checked

Thank you much for all the answers!

Is there a setting for the playback speed that would simulate the actual machine rapids, feed & cutting moves in real time or close to real time for all the machine movements?

No

Simulation has no real time speed mode, all moves are simulated at the same speed regardless of feedrate/rapid
