Machine Builder - Create custom machine from scratch

Hi,

Does anyone know, if it's possible to create a custom machine from scratch and implement it into the machine library?
I created a simplifyed model of my machine and wanted to simulate the manufacturing processes and create a nc-program.

Hope someone can help me out! It would be awesome to have a digital twin of my machine in fusion.

Thanks 🙂

Hi @AlexanderGunkel,

I know it can be done, I've done a bit of it. I followed this YouTube tutorial HERE.

For me I was able to reach out to the machine manufacture and was provided a simple version of our machine. From there is was simply a mater of defining the axis and table and all the stuff. I have just not tested it's final functionality as my CNC is still not fully installed yet.

Hi @Joshua.Aigen,

Thanks for your fast reply!

The video helped a lot and I defined everything like in the video. From there, how do I get a simulation ready machine out of this setup? I would like to see the machine movements, when I simulate the tool paths of a milling program.

Is that even possible right now?

Thanks a lot for your help!

@AlexanderGunkel Awesome!

Once you hit the green finish button, close out of the machine model and open a part that you would like to machine. Then enter the manufacture space, create a new set-up and in that set-up select the machine you just created. If the kinematics were set correctly (I had to go back and change mine) it should simulate on that selected machine.

Good luck!

Yeah, same here 😄

But that was an easy one! Now it's working perfectly fine 🙂

Thanks again! It's an awesome option to see your machine doing the job!
