MAC: Unable to Post Process/Create a .Tap file for MACH3

ISO Help,

I am unable to figure out how to post process anything. I just switched from my Surface 3 tablet, which I could post very easily but struggled with designs. So I switched to the IMAC, and now I am unable to post. I am wondering if I missed a step or an add on or something.

Any help or suggestions would be huge!

Jack

The generic supplied Mach3 post processor isn't configured for Waterjet/Plasma/Laser.

What post were you using on the Surface?

Configuration Folder:

C:\Users\Jack\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Fusion 360 Cam\Posts

 or

Output Folder:

C:\Users\Jack\Appdata\Local\Fusion 360 Cam\nc

NC extension - (.tap)

I have a langmuir CNC table that I run MACH3 as the motion controller, hence the .tap file.

Sorry, that doesn't tell me what Post Processor you were selecting when you were on your Surface

Now, there IS a Mach3 Post that is available HERE

Here is how to get it on your Mac

No need to apologize, I am the one in the wrong. I suppose I do not know what to look for. Is the post configuration what you're asking for, if it is, that is Mach3 Plasma/ mach3 plasma. Attached is the post process screen that I see, right before I click post and the task is completed.

Well that's a bizarre result to be ending up with then. Can you share the Fusion file that you are trying to post out?
File > Export > Save to local folder. Return to thread and attach the .f3d file in your reply

I think you were using the wrong post for plasma you need to use the mach3 plasma post, posting your file using the Mach3 plasma post it works fine.

You don't need to but it is better if you use a solid model with fusion it removes a lot of posable errors and the cut depth if you set the setup correctly is the thickness of the model, and if when looking at the Gcode if the thickness is 1/2in and it cuts to a depth of 1/4 you know instantly it is wrong just looking at the G code.

There are other reasons.

Thank you for the reply and apologies for my absence. I am about to make the alterations mentioned above to remedy my problem. However, I am curious as to how to do what you were describing. I am still rather new with fusion but am willing to learn as much as I can. Thank you!

Now, I have run into another issue. Within my post process options, I do not have anything for Mach3 Plasma. Is there an add on that I am missing or an update to remedy this issue. Thank you again and apologies for being such a novice.

Go here and download it . https://cam.autodesk.com/hsmposts?

If it does not come up first type mach3 plasma into the search box after you have it goto your assets folder in the data panel - open the CAMPosts folder and use the upload button to upload the post.

In the preferences make sure you have enabled cloud libraries in the Manufacture tab

I am really on the struggle bus with this, my apologies. Hopefully this will be all remedied soon. I completed that last task and I have gotten farther, however I cannot get it to successfully post. It looks to be a fault within the Gcode. I also noticed and have began to worry about the extension that the code is posted as. I believe I need the code in a .tap file and currently it is in a .nc file. Thank you for the help!

Mach3 will except .txt, .nc, .tap and .ncc

In mach3 an open ( or ) is a fail it has to be ().

I just tested your model with the plasma post it is fine.

If you have downloaded this post, you should not be receiving an .nc file. The extension given to that post IS .tap

Please confirm that you HAVE downloaded the post linked above and what your results are.
