lathe id tool path gouge chamfer

Not applicable

I have a part where the chamfered edges seem to be over cut by the boring part when internal boring a tube.

the image below shows the issue but I’m not sure why this happened

what is not set up correctly ? This only seems to happen in the chamfered area

I don't believe that it's actually gouging the model. What the Simulation is showing is "theoretical sharp point" of the tool. Does the Simulation > Stock and machined model show that same gouge? Can you share your file?

Right click on the file in the Data Panel and select "Share Public Link", paste that link here

Hi @Anonymous,

Like @seth.madore said I also don’t think the tool is gouging. Check the simulation with Stock turned ON.

how is your tool defined for the tool tip compensation? what you are seeing is the line from the tangent of the insert. im also positive it is not gouging, as stated above if you enable stock in simulation you'll see the way the tool path lines follow the insert.

every once in a while Ill get a small burr, typically extending my lead in distance helps as well.
