Is there a way to set the default speed for High Feedrate?

Hey All,

I have been using G0 in my posts as my machine (TM1) doesn't support the High Feedrate Rapids. Is there a way to set the default speed to the maximum rapid of my machine to avoid using G0, thus avoiding the dogleg issue?

Sorry if this has been answered. I swear I just searched for an answer first! Can't find one.........

Thanks

@chrisevrard

Don`t know whaich PP you are using but here is an example of where to change that value in the HAAS NGC PP.

HAAS Change HF Default.jpg

The Default is the 5000 value, change that to the Rapids Feed that you want for example 20000 and you should get the High Feedrate shown in the Properties at point of Posting as shown below.

HAAS Changed HF Properties.jpg

Which hopefully should produce code as shown below

Hope that helps some 🙂 🙂

An alternative is that dogleg is usually a parameter in the machine, you can turn that off.  I don't know your machine tho, this might not be in every machine, but worth a look.

@DarthBane55 I don't believe Haas have joined the rest of the machine mfg's in this parameter..

@chrisevrard

In the NGC look for setting #335, change it to linear for a 3 axis machine. All of our machines are setup this way. It gives better control when proving out a program at say 25% rapid, using "high-feed" for those moves, you don't have that control over the transition moves... We typically will use 650-900''/min for high-feed and it sometimes feels slow when doing adaptive moves, but let me tell you it sure aint slow when looking through the door when setting up a new part!! This could also cause a serious crash.

Our newest machine came from the factory with this turned on... It does have a rotary so it is set to "linear + rotary" I attached a screenshot from the manual.. Hope this helps, good luck.

@Don.Cyr Thanks for the info I didn't know this.

Turns out we can only set it on one of our Haas NGC (the newer one). The older one (early 2016) doesn't have this setting. Guess it would require a software update to get it.
